Lords & MCC

Lord’s Cricket Ground is a 200 year old sporting institution, and home to the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).Lord’s is the spiritual Home of Cricket and the MCC is immensely proud of it’s heritage in the game but it was in dire need of modernising as the game tried to appeal to a younger audience. I was responsible for creating a digital experience that would reflect the reputation of Lord’s and the MCC while cementing it as one of the leading sporting stadiums in the world. This included involvement at all levels of the process from IA creation, user journeys, creative workshops and final deliverables.I was heavily involved with the initial pitch that brought this project into the agency.

Lord’s have to cater to 3 very distinct user groups. The Ground (Lord’s), The Club (MCC) and the Members. Each of these groups required a very bespoke experience from the website with the ability to seamlessly navigate through each section of the website as well as external sites that are linked to the digital architecture of Lord’s.We developed a navigation system that allowed the user to explore each of these sections regardless of what area of the site they were in. These would appear as and when a user needed them or their permissions allowed them access to that section of the website.

A Fresh new look for a sporting institution
In late 2019 MCC & Lord’s cricket ground went through a re-brand.As part of this re-brand I had to adapt the current website design to suit the new brand and work with the branding agency to help them develop guidleines and best practices for the execution of the brand on the website. The brand was launched in March 2020.
