Tideway logo with Green mark

Tideway

Tideway are experts in wealth management and retirement planning. They approached Boulder to help develop a new brand strategy and look and feel, as well as brand new website for marketing purposes.

The new Tideway brand direction was...

Passionately sensible. A juxta-position? Perhaps, but if sensible investing is careful investing, and passionate investing is seizing the best opportunities, then we bring the perfect blend.Because sensible investing doesn’t mean outdated investing. If something is new, but proven to work, we’re passionate about using it.

The idea of sensible growth heavily influenced the visual design decisions I made when designign the look and feel.

Putting it all together
When building out the designs I focused on both digital and print.

I wanted to create a variety of styles that would still feel uniquely Tideway. I worked closely with the a copywriter to see how we could be clever with the language and copy alongside the visual elements to tell a better marketing narrative.

I also developed an image library for the client that had 2 levels;

1. People silhouetted. The subject should always be showing action and imagery should never looked posed.

2. A life being lived. This style focuses on everyday objects. Objects should always look like they are being used and therefore should never feel brand new or too clean. It is important that these images capture a moment and do not feel staged.

Building blocks for success
Before we embarked on designing the website I worked closely with the Tideway team to develop the UX collateral that would direct our design decisions. These included Customer personas, Customer journeys, Sitemaps and wireframes.
